The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team put up a valiant effort against the University of Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles on Sunday, December 04, 2022 at 3M Arena at Mariucci. Despite a strong showing from both teams, the Golden Eagles ultimately emerged victorious with a 6-2 win.

The Golden Eagles had 33 shots while the Golden Gophers had 30. The Golden Eagles were 3/3 on their powerplay opportunities and the Golden Gophers were 0/1. The Golden Eagles’ goalie Braden Schmitz had 27 saves on 30 shots and the Golden Gophers’ goalie Matthew Bryant had 27 saves on 32 shots.

The Golden Eagles’ #10 Logan Syrup had an impressive performance with 3 goals, while the Golden Gophers’ #9 Shane Griffin scored one goal.

Although the Golden Gophers were unable to come away with the win, they put up a strong fight and showed great determination throughout the game. The team looks forward to the next game and will be looking to come out on top.
