The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team delivered a dominant performance against the Saint Cloud State University Huskies, securing an impressive 8-2 victory at the 3M Arena at Mariucci on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The Golden Gophers showcased their offensive prowess by outshooting the Huskies 57 to 27. Despite the Huskies’ efforts, they were unable to capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, going 0/1, while the Golden Gophers did not need the man advantage to find the back of the net.
In a standout performance, Golden Gophers’ goaltender Zach Walker stood tall between the pipes, turning away 25 of the 27 shots he faced. On the offensive end, Hudson Weber shined with three assists, contributing to the team’s commanding victory.
Although the Huskies managed to get on the scoreboard with a goal from #4 Tiernan Atteberry, it was the Golden Gophers who controlled the game from start to finish, showcasing their skill and determination on the ice.
