In an exciting home game at the Ridder Arena, the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers dominated the University of Georgia Bulldogs with a final score of 6-2. The game took place on September 20th, 2025, and the Gophers proved once again why they are a force to be reckoned with in the rink.
The Golden Gophers outshot the Bulldogs by a wide margin, with 44 shots compared to the Bulldogs’ 21. Despite the Bulldogs’ three powerplay opportunities, they were unable to convert any into goals. The Gophers, on the other hand, also weren’t successful in their six powerplay attempts.
The Bulldogs’ goalie, Isaac Haugen, had a busy night with 44 shots against him, managing to save 38. On the other end of the ice, the Gophers’ Jack Mlodozyniec faced 21 shots, saving 19 of them.
Highlighting the individual performances, Bulldogs’ #9 Graham Baird managed to score a goal. However, the star of the night was undoubtedly the Gophers’ #11 Tyler Bishop, who scored not one but two goals, contributing significantly to the team’s victory.
The Gophers will carry this momentum into their next game, which is an away match against the University of Wisconsin.
