The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers showed their prowess on the ice with a thrilling 7-4 victory over the University of Saint Thomas Tommies on October 24th at Ridder Arena. The Gophers demonstrated superior offensive tactics, managing 39 shots against the Tommies’ 33.
Despite the Tommies’ successful powerplay 1/3, the Gophers managed to keep their defense tight, with their powerplay standing at 0/3. The night’s star players were undoubtedly the goalies. The Tommies’ Van Eigner made impressive saves, blocking 32 of the 39 shots, while the Gophers’ Owen Peterson saved 29 out of 33 shots.
The game saw some outstanding individual performances too. The Tommies’ #5 Danny Pasqua and the Gophers’ #16 Jackson Kuznik each scored 2 goals, contributing significantly to their respective teams’ scores.
