In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers crushed the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugolds with a score of 8-1 at the United Civic Center on October 21, 2025.

The Gophers showed their offensive prowess with a total of 51 shots compared to Blugolds’ 31. Despite the Blugolds managing to get on the scoreboard with a powerplay goal, the Gophers’ defense held strong, allowing only one goal out of five powerplays. On the other hand, the Gophers couldn’t convert any of their three powerplays into goals, but it didn’t impact the eventual outcome of the game.

In the goaltending department, Owen Peterson of the Golden Gophers had a stellar night, saving 30 out of 31 shots. On the other side, Kaleb Bents of the Blugolds had a challenging night, managing to save only 43 out of 51 shots.

The star of the game was undoubtedly Jackson Kuznik of the Golden Gophers, who scored two goals, significantly contributing to the team’s victory. The lone goal for the Blugolds came from Joseph Baranowski.

The Golden Gophers will look to carry this momentum into their next game against the University of Saint Thomas on Friday, October 24 at Ridder Arena. Be sure to come out and support our Gophers as they continue their winning streak.
