The MD2 University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team took on the MD2 Lindenwood University Lions in a hard-fought battle at the Centene Community Ice Center on Friday, September 29th. Despite a valiant effort, the Golden Gophers fell short, losing 6-4.

The Golden Gophers had 23 shots on goal, while the Lions had 55 shots. Both teams had chances on the powerplay, but neither could convert. Matthew Bryant was in goal for the Golden Gophers, making 19 saves out of 54 shots faced. For the Lions, Ethan Paulin-Hatch was in goal, making 19 saves out of 23 shots faced.

The Golden Gophers were led by Henry Lawrence, who had two assists in the game. For the Lions, Chase Mcclellan was the standout, also with two assists.

The Golden Gophers fought hard, but ultimately came up short. They will look to regroup and come back stronger in their next game.
